What is this strategy about?
The Social Infrastructure Strategy provides a framework for how Council can plan for the future of the facilities that our community uses. Social infrastructure can include things like public halls and community centres, senior citizens centres, play grounds, swimming pools and sporting club facilities.
We know these community facilities help individuals, families, groups and communities meet their social needs, and enhance community wellbeing.
We have also identified that Council has some future challenges as it works out how it can continue to maintain all the buildings and spaces that our community uses at the required standards.
This Strategy provides details on some future work that would allow Council to make some decisions about how best to manage the buildings and spaces our community uses to meets their social needs.
The strategy is not making any recommendations about the future of any individual community buildings or spaces.
What planning has happened so far with the Strategy?
The Strategy has been through a number of stages so far; we are nearing the final stage, where we are keen to hear from community members about this draft before it is approved by Council for implementation. For details on the steps taken so far, visit our Social Infrastructure Journeyhere

How can I provide feedback?
We are keen to get your feedback on the Strategy. We would like to know if you think that the work that has been recommended will give us the information needed to better plan which facilities will need updates to meet current needs and standards and which facilities are nearing the end of life, for which better alternatives may exist.
