What should Newbridge look like 15 years from now?

What do you love about Newbridge today?

These are some of the questions we would like to explore with you and the Newbridge community as we plan for the future of the town.

The project seeks to share information and facts to help the community understand some of the key constraints and opportunities that we will need to consider for the future.

Your feedback is important.

It will help the project team (Plan2Place and CoFutures) understand what matters most to the community and inform their recommendations to Council about how Newbridge can evolve into the future.

Here's how to get involved:

How likely is Newbridge to receive water mains in the next 5 years?

    Infrastructure and services

Newbridge does not have access to reticulated gas, water or sewerage. Coliban Water, the responsible water and sewerage service provider, has advised their strategic plan and proposed infrastructure investment does not currently include provision of these services to Newbridge.

The township is supported by a range of community infrastructure including a general store with postal and banking services, a hotel, public hall, recreation reserve and sporting facilities, and public open space along the Loddon River.

Reliable mobile coverage and high-speed internet access are essential services that underpin economic growth,
public safety, service delivery and community wellbeing. Significant areas of Loddon Shire, including Newbridge township and surrounds, continue to experience limited or no mobile phone coverage.

Council prioritises advocacy to Government for investment to expand mobile coverage and improve digital connectivity across Loddon Shire, addressing critical service gaps in rural areas.

Most recent discussions occurred in June 2026, between Councillors and representatives from Telstra and NBN, when Newbridge connectivity was discussed.

Council is currently preparing a Connectivity Plan to support advocacy efforts for investment in Newbridge and district, as well as other areas in the Shire.
